Shifting our Gaze from Gauge to God

Sometimes when I’m on a cross country car ride & the fuel gauge becomes low, my heart begins to flutter because I’m in unfamiliar territory. I’ve no idea when the next gas station will surface so I keep glancing down wondering how many miles I’ve left as the DTE simply says “low fuel”😳 If my anxious gaze remains on the gauge, however, I might miss the gas station just ahead - I’ll miss the source of gas & eventually sputter to a stop.

I kinda feel like our nation is in a place of unfamiliar territory right now. The “news” often seems baseless at best, freedoms seem to be flitting away & I don’t know about you, but some days I wonder if I have the “gas” to keep going.

Isaiah prophesies about a scary time when the Lord will say, “I have been silent, but now I will level the mountains & blight the greenery. I will turn rivers into dry land & dry up the pools”😬

But then He promises to guide beloved Israel down an unfamiliar path, brightening the darkness before them & smoothing out the road ahead.

The chaos of our culture acts like a siren’s call to panic, tempting us to grasp for anything but God to save us. The uncertainty of our times can lure us from Truth, forgetting that there is no other source that can fill our tanks but the God who predicted our rescue, orchestrated our salvation & then proclaimed it to the world. (Is.43:12)

There is no thing or person we trust that has the power to do that👆🏽

I think our country at large is in a “low fuel” moment & in many ways it is good. Folks are awakening from a deep slumber of complacency & realizing our need for Security sourced only from our Savior, Jesus Christ!

When we shift our perspective from our limited gauge to our unlimited God, He will guide us down the unfamiliar path ahead where we will never run dry!

The Father says today,

“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you & called your name. You’re mine.

👉🏽When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.

👉🏽When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.

👉🏽When you’re between a rock & a hard place, it won’t be a dead end, because I am GOD, your personal God, your Savior.” Is.‬ ‭43:1-4‬

With everlasting love,
