“Faith can feel ridiculous… until it starts to rain.”

I’ve lived this line more than once. Just this week, our family lost a dear friend—Ms. Gail—after a long, hope-filled battle with cancer. We prayed with fervency and faith for her healing… and yet, for reasons we may never understand this side of Heaven, Jesus welcomed her home on Monday…

Moments like these can shake your soul. They can tempt you to question whether your prayers mattered—whether your faith was misplaced. But today I remembered Noah.

He built an ark in the middle of a dry region, where it had never rained. He trusted the Word God had spoken, letting every swing of the hammer pierce the air, not for applause or understanding—but in agreement with a promise no one else could see. He built by faith… until the rain came.

Sometimes God asks us to do the same:

To pray for something.

To build something.

To believe for something—without ever seeing the outcome we imagined.

But here’s what we can count on:

“Even if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.” – 2 Timothy 2:13

And…

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” – Hebrews 10:23

So friend, don’t let the delay make you doubt.

Don’t let what you see or what you don’t see yet cause you to lay down your faith.

The rain will come.

We just might not see the full spectrum of it until we get to the other side of Heaven. And when we do, I believe we’ll see how every prayer mattered, how every moment was seen, every tear was collected —and how faithful ones like Ms. Gail helped us keep believing.🤍

Can you imagine “amazing” Jesus? 👉🏽That’s what a Roman officer did!

He wasn’t even a Jew. He wasn’t raised in the faith. He didn’t know the Torah & yet he probably heard rumors of this carpenter who could

🙌🏽 heal heal lepers,

🙌🏽 make the blind see

🙌🏽 and the deaf hear!

So when the officer pleads with Jesus to heal his servant, & Jesus agrees to come to his home, the man confesses this:

“I’m not worthy to have you in my home.

Just SAY THE WORD FROM WHERE YOU ARE and my servant WILL BE HEALED…”

When Jesus hears this, He is amazed!

Turning to those who are following him, Jesus declares , “I tell you the truth. I haven’t seen faith like this in all of Israel!”

I don’t know what you are facing today that seems impossible, but I am praying that as you read this, you would be encouraged to have FAITH LIKE THIS!

Jesus is the same yesterday today & forever!

He longs to be your Healer

Redeemer

Reconciler

Provider

Shepherd

Rock

Manna for today…

You name it & He is the Source of anything & everything you will ever need.

Just call on His name, confess like the Roman officer that you are not worthy of His grace, but that you desperately need Him to be your Savior!

Invite Him to reside inside & “say the Word” as He leads you as Lord, watching with great expectation how a “faith like this” will move mountains in your life!

Do your ears itch for something other than Truth? Truth can sometimes be hard to swallow, but whether we can handle the Truth is of no consequence. It will always remain👉🏽The Truth. Truth is like a beacon to a ship lost at sea. The black sky is filled with blowing winds & rain falling sideways &, even though the dark night is suddenly lit by lightning, the sailors can’t determine due North. When we see Truth like a lighthouse beacon, an overwhelming sense of peace surfaces as we realize the safety it brings! Paul warns, “A time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound & wholesome teaching. They will follow their desires & will look for teachers who will tell them what they’re itching ears want to hear. They will reject truth...” 2 Timothy 3:3-4 Turning a deaf ear to Truth can give a temporary sense of peace…kinda like when a kid hides under a kitchen table & thinks, “I can’t see you, so you can’t see me!“😳 Truth is held in the person-hood of Jesus Christ. His Word dispels darkness & sheds light on the rocky boulders & sandbars that’ll cause our lives to run aground & smash to pieces! Where are you turning a deaf ear to Truth? Maybe there is: 👉🏽A political stance or cultural ideology that sounds right, but doesn’t align with Truth? 👉🏽A seemingly small thing like what you watch on Netflix or listen to on Spotify even though it doesn’t align with Truth? 👉🏽OR maybe you chose a church that doesn’t speak the WHOLE Truth so your itching ears can hear what they wanna hear?😬 Regardless of what it may be, we all have to become wary of turning a deaf ear to Truth for there will come a time when we’ll stand at heavens gates to give an account for “living our truth”. My heart aches knowing that there may be many who’ll declare, “Jesus is my Lord!” And to their great dismay, although they turned a deaf ear to Truth, Truth will turn to them & say: “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.” Mt. 7:22 I exhort you to no longer turn a deaf ear to Truth in the big & seemingly small! Where can you let the Spirit of Truth lead you into ALL Truth today?
