There is a freedom that falls when we confess that we don’t have all the answers. With each year that passes, I begin to know more intimately all that I don’t know 😂

Several years ago, the Lord led me to share the correction & Truth He spoke to me through His Word with anyone who’d listen.

Last June, as my youngest prepared for college & I prepared to resign from the school, I felt a question bubble: To whom will you share the revelation now?

I had a sense of where the Lord was leading, but I didn’t really want to follow...I committed to post about His Word on social media for 1 month & now, 7 months later, I’m stunned that He continues to speak.

If I think about it too much, I feel squeamish inside, but if I’m honest this is what surfaces:

I’ve got nothing of value to share other than what the Lord gives me each day & even then, it’s delivered through the faulty fingers of a sin-stained woman who is saved by God’s amazing grace!

The moment I begin to think about likes, follows or forwards, or go to the other extreme & confess, “Oh, I’ve got nothing to offer today”, pride gets in the way of God’’s purpose.

Proverbs promises us that pride always ends in humiliation, while humility paves the way for honor.

I recently heard comedian Michael Jr. speak about the “why” behind our “what”.

He shared a clip from a previous show where he asked a random audience member to sing a few bars of “Amazing Grace”.

He sang it beautifully, but when Michael asked him to sing it a 2nd time, as if his uncle just got outta jail & he’d been shot in the back as a kid? Y’all! What came out of that man’s mouth was astounding!

Same song, same singer, different “why”!

Michael said,

“The 1st time I asked him to sing, he knew WHAT he was doing…

The 2nd time I asked him to sing, he knew WHY he was doing…

When you’re walking in your WHY, your WHAT becomes more impactful because you’re walking out your purpose!”

Pride & perfection will always be a roadblock on the path to purpose. It limits us, distances us from others & keeps us from embracing the Body of Christ.

Humility reminds us that we don’t have all the answers & frees us of pride so we may walk out our why with purpose!

I’ve heard the term “Progressive Christianity” a LOT lately. I can’t speak about it in depth, but the very name seems like an oxymoron.

If Jesus is the steadfast & unchanging Source of Truth (Jn. 14:6), then regardless of what changes in culture, there’s nothing to “progress”, right?

If we redefine faith to fit cultural conformity, it seems to me like it’d just be another false religion.

I read a bit about Progressive Christianity this AM & learned many things. The most striking was this idea that Christians are encouraged to, “Find YOUR truth. Live YOUR Truth.”

Anytime we put a pronoun before the word, “truth”, it’s no longer truth, but simply an opinion.

👆🏽That’s worth reading twice!

•Truth is Truth.

•Jesus is Truth.

•He’s the same yesterday, today & forever so regardless of what changes, Jesus is the unchanging standard of Truth.

A pastor of a progressive church in Nashville recently stated, “We know that the Bible cannot live up to the impossible modern standards...it isn’t the Word of God...rather a product of community...” 😳

Wowza! Y’all, the deconstruction of Biblical Truth for the sake of cultural accommodation has, is & will continue to be the downfall of any nation!

The prophet Amos writes a prophecy about the fall of idol-worshipping Israel:

“Wake up you fat cows...the time will come when you will be led out with hooks in your noses...the Lord says, ‘Come back to Me & live!’”

A similar message is proclaimed in Revelation 3 where God states, “I know all the things you do & that you have a reputation for being alive – but you are dead. Wake up!”

Y’all! We need to WAKE UP! There cannot BE any sort of progressive form of Christianity because TRUTH NEVER CHANGES!

This “social justice gospel” is not the gospel, it’s simply good works lacking eternal impact.

We cannot create a social utopia here on earth. It has not, is not & will not happen because it lacks a Savior. We cannot be saved with out a Savior!

I believe any dystopia we feel is an intentional reminder of our need of Him!

Here’s the bottomline: Truth is steadfast. It doesn’t accommodate to culture. if the Bible calls it a sin, your opinion doesn’t really matter. It’s still sin.

My son once made a comment that I didn’t understand. He said, “So thirsty!”

I was like, “What does that even mean?”

He laughed & explained that it means someone who thirsts for compliments or approval. I thought about it long & finally concluded this:

God created us ALL to be thirsty!

The physical composition of a healthy body is over 55% water so He created us to thirst when dehydrated. The problem surfaces when we to try to meet that need with anything but the pure water it craves.

All week long, I’ve had a mini Coke Zero in my lunch bag. It’s my once in a blue moon guilty pleasure. Each day I pulled it out of my lunch bag, looked at longingly & then shoved it back, gabbing my water instead.

Why? Because I can’t UNknow what I KNOW! Even though it’s zero calories & has only 9 ingredients, 4 of them are very harmful to the body. Drinking that zero soda doesn’t = zero impact!

The book of Amos tells how the people turned from God to fulfill their thirst with counterfeit gods. Because they wouldn’t listen, the lush lands of the shepherds would dry up & the grass would wither & die.

Proverbs tells us that sometimes words alone will not be enough to discipline a servant, for when words are not heeded, action is needed.

God created us all to thirst in the physical, but I wonder if it’s also a daily reminder of our need for Living Water? It’s so easy to satisfy our thirsty hearts with anything but our intimate Source, Jesus!

We thirst for:

-security so we work hard to make more $

-approval so we buy the extra fancy thing

-pleasure so we make the poor choice

The thirstiness list could go on for ages, but the thing we need ask is how are we quenching our thirst?

If it is by anything or anyone than The One Who can satisfy us for eternity, we’ll always be left thirsting for more AND our fake source just might have unhealthy ingredients that will lead to our spiritual, emotional or relational demise!

Father, You caused the lush pastures to dry up so Your people would remember their need OF You! Help us to walk in wisdom SO THAT You need not dry up our pasturelands=> the blessings of life that can fallibly quench our God-given thirst that’s meant for You alone!
